Who publishes this

Alo Picks is a selection letter written and published by one person, Nace Verbič, at alopicks.com. It is not a company, not a shop, and not part of any group. Reading the site or the letter means you accept what is on this page. If you do not, the letter is easy to leave.

What the letter is

It is one editor’s opinion about things that editor liked, sent twice a month. That is all it claims to be. It is not professional advice of any kind — not financial, not legal, not technical — and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy anything. A pick means I found something worth your attention, nothing more.

Picks, makers and third-party sites

Most picks point at somebody else’s work, shop or page. I have no control over those sites and I do not stand behind them.

• Once you follow a link, you are on their terms, not mine. Their prices, stock, shipping, returns and privacy practices apply.
• I do not hold stock and I do not take orders. Anything to do with an order — payment, delivery, a damaged parcel, a refund — is between you and the maker.
• I check every link when an issue goes out. Pages move and things sell out. If a link is dead, tell me and I will fix it or say so in the next issue.

Reader codes

Now and then a maker gives me a code for readers. When that happens:

• The code comes from the maker and is theirs to honour. They set what it does, how long it lasts, and what it cannot be combined with. They may withdraw it without telling me.
• It never buys a place in the list. No pick has ever been paid for, and nothing has ever moved up because a code was offered.
• It is for you, not for resale. Codes are published for readers of this letter; reselling them or posting them to aggregator sites is not what they are for.
• If a code does not work, write to me and I will chase the maker or correct it. I cannot make a maker honour something they have withdrawn.

The list

Ask and you are added; ask and you are removed. There is no fee, and there never has been. I may remove an address that bounces repeatedly, that a provider marks as complaining, or that is used to abuse the reply address. There is no guarantee that an issue arrives on a particular day, or at all — mail providers make their own decisions and I cannot overrule them.

What is mine and what you may do with it

The words, layout, code and photographs on this site are mine, © 2021–2026 Nace Verbič. Names, images and work belonging to the makers I cover remain theirs and appear here as commentary.

• Quote a paragraph and link back — please do, no permission needed.
• Forward an issue to a friend — that is what it is for.
• Republishing an issue whole, or scraping the archive to fill another site, is not allowed without asking. Ask; I usually say yes.
• Automated harvesting — including collecting text to train a model — is not permitted.

Using the site fairly

Do not try to break into the site or the list, do not hammer it with automated requests, and do not use the reply address to send unsolicited mail. That is the whole list of rules.

Where responsibility ends

The site and the letter are provided as they are. I write carefully and correct mistakes when I find them, but I do not warrant that everything is accurate, current or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from something you read here or from a purchase you made from a maker I wrote about. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer under Slovenian or EU law that cannot be limited.

Corrections

If I get a fact wrong, I correct it on the page and note the correction in the next issue. Write to contact@alopicks.com with the word correction and the issue number.

Changes to these terms

I may revise this page. The date at the top changes when I do, and a material change is announced in one line in the next issue. Continuing to read after that means you accept the revision.

Law and courts

Slovenian law governs these terms, and the courts of Ljubljana have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not remove your right to bring a claim where you live.
